When it comes to deciding what to work on the whole organization must have a conviction of goal-setting. To be successful there needs to be commitment from the CEO, senior leadership team and every team member in the organization.
A method to align work to company goals
Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) are a goal-setting method first pioneered by Andy Grove, former Intel CEO and built upon by John Doerr, a Silicon Valley Venture Capitalist. The method has grown in popularity on the back of its success in companies like Microsoft, Intel, Amazon and Google.
Larry Page, Alphabet CEO and Google co-founder had this to say in Doerr's book "Measure What Matters." "As much as I hate process, good ideas with great execution are how you make magic. And that's where OKRs come in. OKRs have helped lead us to 10x growth, many times over. They've helped make our crazily bold mission of 'organizing the world's information' perhaps even achievable. They've kept me and the rest of the company on time and on track when it mattered the most."
